Madhubani art has been originated from the Madhubani district of Bihar. This art was traditionally created by the women of this region. This painting was a form of wall art in ancient times.  But now it has been done on cloth, hand-made papers, and canvas.

Madhubani was the art of women, but nowadays we can see that men are also contributing to the artform in their own style.Usually, Madhubani paintings are two-dimensional in nature with geometrical shapes.
